Personal and bodycare – Replenish Yourself

The maintenance of staying and looking younger as long as possible seems to have been a constant obsession. Getting rid of wrinkles, stretch marks, blackheads, and all of these signs of aging are now considered to be of the utmost importance to many. We see different kinds of ads making us feel like we are not doing enough for our body and they grace us with these lines of beauty products that can be bought everywhere – all claiming to be the answer.

The skin is the largest organ in our body, and it has been told that what we see on our skin is a reflection of what goes on beneath the surface. Many miracle products have been produced, with the promise of forever youth and beauty for any age. However, one should take into consideration that our skin is just as complex as any other organ in our system. Further education and learning on how it works is necessary before trying on something that may just end up harmful on your skin. Also, we should all remind ourselves that most of these treatments and care products can only go so far that we also have the responsibility to take care of it inside out (more on this later!).

Correction, intervention, prevention – these should all be part of your daily skin-care routine. Even medical professionals pursue this pattern, not just for skin-care but for any part of our body. This habit is essential in taking care of your skin and body.

Aging is an inevitable part of life. None of us can cheat or escape it (although some claim they can!). Here is the basic truth: as we grow older, collagen production decrease and turnover of new cell from dead cells slows down slightly, our skin loses its elasticity, fine lines and age spots starts to appear, and deep wrinkles starts to become more noticeable.

Some other factors contribute in aging that we are constantly exposed to – sun, anxiety, stress, unhealthy habits like smoking, etc. Most of these can cause premature aging on our skin and can aggravate our health.

Here are some of the things you need to know when it comes to taking care of your skin:

  • Avoid cortisone creams and medicinal interventions, unless for healing purpose with the guidance of a medical professional
  • Protection of your skin should be a priority. Minimize exposure to harmful chemicals and environmental stimulants like the sun, wind, extreme cold or heat, etc.
  • Eat the right type of food that would help your skin be at its utmost condition
  • Include in your diet food that contains Omega-3 Fatty Acids (can be found in salmon or flax seeds), Vitamin C (can be found in citrus fruits), Vitamin E  (can be found in nuts and vegetable oils), and those that contain Antioxidants (such as green tea).
  • Reduce stress and anxiety in your life. Learn how to cope with stressful situations and exercise for a skin regiment that can do more than any topical treatment.
  • Avoid medical procedures for vanity, and reduce the intake of medicine for the sole purpose of convenience. Allow your body to learn how to heal itself.
  • Many elements with healing properties like Aloe, Emu Oil, Red Clover, and countless others can be used
  • Many healthy habits like drinking water, eating fresh fruits, walking out to get some fresh air, and other physical activities are often overlooked
  • Skin conditions like Eczema, Psoriasis, Shingles, Rosacea, and other skin irritations or dry skin can all be symptoms or manifestations of some other deeper issues in your body that needs to be dealt with. Never simply focus on looking beautiful on the outside because it is not all about wrinkles or aging.
  • Treating pain and skin problems naturally is possible with the right type of care and wit careful education.

Like any other problem that may arise, all it needs is a little time and effort on studying it until you find the answer that suits you. A lot of skin conditions are telltale signs that you are not taking proper care of it. You can make a huge difference on how you look simply by taking more notice on the things you eat and the things you do everyday. Learn and apply how to take care of your body inside and out!
